Before you start
Who counts as a billable seat?
Anyone who authors a case or records a result. Viewers — the product manager reading a release page, the developer checking a run before approving a PR, the auditor reading the trail — are free and unlimited on every plan, including Free.
What happens to my data if I leave?
One authenticated call returns every row your organization owns — catalogue, case versions, executions, releases, milestones, quality policies and the audit trail — as JSON, or a table at a time as CSV. A second call reads it back into an empty organization, which is how we test that the first one is complete.
Can I move off TestRail without losing run history?
The importer brings cases, sections, milestones and run history across, then gives you a reconciliation report showing what matched, what did not, and why, so someone can sign it off before you cut over.
Does a release stay readable after the cases change?
Yes. A release records the exact wording of every test at the moment it was executed, the evidence attached, and any blocking check a human overrode. Editing a case today does not move last month’s evidence.
How is AI evidence priced?
It is not priced separately. Model output lands as evidence like any other result — model, input, output, score with its scale, latency, trace link — and counts against nothing but your storage.
Do agents need seats?
Agents read the catalogue over MCP and record results under their own identity rather than borrowing a person’s. They are billed as contributors, so an agent recording results costs the same as a person doing it.
We would rather you could leave and choose not to, than stay because the exit costs more than the renewal.
